As part of our Indigenous Environmental Laws project, CIER has commissioned six papers by Indigenous scholars, lawyers, and leaders in response to a series of research questions posed by CIER. One of these papers, co-authored by Val Napoleon and Richard Overstall, “Indigenous Law: Issues, Considerations and Experiences”, explores ways to think about and research law concerning Indigenous peoples’ relationship with their natural environment. It also suggests long-term strategies for Aboriginal peoples to consider to research and implement their law relating to their environment.

The CIER library has undergone a huge transformation this past year. We are now able to provide you with easy access to numerous online and free information resources focused on Aboriginal peoples and the environment. Also, our new library catalogue is simplified and should make for an easy searching experience. We would welcome your feedback, and should you have any questions, please contact us.
